The Best of 2020

A student recently asked me, "How do you get past your artist block?" It caught me off guard. If I've ever had artist block, it happened in 2020. I replied that I take space to find inspiration, remember what interests me about my work, and find a way to force myself to get started. So often, just getting started is the hardest part. This year, I practiced taking a breath. I evaluated my artistic motives, and found space to grow through reconnecting with some past experiences. This work developed through a dual sense of play and reflective exploration, into ideas I am excited to carry forward.
