Perspective through the Shape of a Window
This work carries forward elements of The Study of the Curve of a Line theme. However, lately I am exploring ideas about how the lines become shapes, as they create windows in the margins, and how segmented drawings inform implied lines. Formerly referential design elements are taking new meaning with the use of pattern. Dots as cells, and clusters are being simplified into rows. Curved lines, studied originally as layers in a tissue structure, are stepping into a more active role on the surface. The human body continues to be a source of inspiration for forms.
Windows are becoming important as a representation of the windows I spent much of the past year looking through. I am thinking more and more about the geometry of the window and the landscape beyond. Both in my work and in my personal life, I am focusing on one thing at a time, following the intuitive path, and trying to understand how it all fits together.
